VW Golf Timing Chain or Belt????

I have just bought a vw golf mk v6 4motion registered sept 2000. Does it have a timing belt or a timing chain? If the latter, does it need changing at all? The car has done 79000 miles. What are people’s views of this car? Any tips?

The VW V(R)6 has a timing chain which should last the lifetime of the engine.
